About this event
From Impulse to Performance (possible to attend 2 sessions: the first and last session or the first and second; send me a message for a discount for 2 sessions)
Come without a finished idea. Leave with something you created.
You don't need to be an actor. You don't need to be confident on stage. You don't need to arrive with an idea.
We will discover the material together.
What if you started with a movement, a sound, an image, a memory or simply an impulse?
Over three Sundays, we will explore how these small impulses can grow into original performance material through movement, voice, improvisation, writing and collaboration.
What will we do?
Through practical exercises inspired by physical theatre, improvisation and devising, you will:
- explore movement and physical expression
- experiment with voice, breath and sound
- use imagination, images and writing as creative starting points
- improvise individually, in pairs and as an ensemble
- develop your own ideas through collaboration
- transform spontaneous impulses into short performance material
The laboratory is a process of experimenting, playing, discovering and composing rather than trying to perform perfectly.
